Milwaukee's southside homeless public defecation problem

This story is very upsetting to me. I can sympathize with the woman who is complaining and she has every right to complain, but, I also have sympathy for the homeless that are doing it.

Can't there be some kind of resolve that would be acceptable by all parties? I mean, this type of thing must happen in other places, and how do they deal with it?

It wouldn't exactly be pretty, but, could someone put a portable outhouse there or something? Can you imagine the embarrassment these people feel when they must go to the bathroom outside?

In this article it is mentioned that the problem is catching someone in the act, ok, well, even if they do catch someone, then what? Are they going to take them jail? Are they going to fine them? These people are homeless, they do not have any money for fines. There has to be a better way!

I really don't think they should be putting outhouses in the alleys, that is a little far fetched. Maybe some plastic Walmart bags would be a better option...

This is a NO WIN situation. It doesn't matter what is done, it will not fix the problem. If you lock them up, the taxpayers are fitting the bill, if you don't, they are pooping in the streets and alleys, if you fine them they wont pay, etc.
NO WIN!

Yes and if they are thrown in jail, who is paying for that, the taxpayers are.
I think there needs to be a resolve at the root of the problem, how many of the homeless have alcohol or drug abuse problems? We need to start helping them overcome that and work toward becoming functioning members of society.
It seems like so much of the mentality about the homeless is that we will just leave them be and they will die off, like they aren't worth anything, it is so so sad! We need to start helping each other!
